To Explore / Downtown Columbia, MO

Hi there! Just wanted to share a little CoMo love today! Columbia's great for many things, but the downtown scene here is probably my favorite. I've corralled some of my favorite spots to eat and shop downtown, so let's get to sharing! First on the list is Uprise Bakery, a mainstay in Columbia's downtown culture. They offer up delicious pastries, and some of the best iced coffee's in town! I'm partial to their iced maple latte.

Next up is Coley's for dinner and drinks! They serve classic "American" dishes, but always with a twist. The brie burger is a must try, but I took my family here when they visited last (hi mom + dad!), and everyone said their meals were great!

Another great dinner + drinks spot is 44 Canteen, a more downtown-friendly outpost of 44 Stone. Brett and I just went on a date night here this week, and their hot chicken sliders blew my mind! We also tried out their fries as an appetizer, and it was definitely the right choice.

Lastly, we have Columbia's beloved Logboat Brewery! This is our favorite place to visit during the summer, as it's family-friendly (they have a massive, gated yard full of games and open free space for kids to go crazy) and serves our favorite locally-brewed beer. Also, there is at least one food truck parked by their outdoor space at all times, which is always a plus!

Now, onto a little shopping. There are tons of fun boutiques downtown, but I'm going to single out two! Up first is Muse Clothing, which boasts a bountiful shop full of vintage and new clothes. I'm partial to their vintage selection, but all of it's just plain good!

My second pick is the gorgeous, well-curated Poppy. They carry everything from paper goods by Rifle Paper Co., to locally handcrafted ceramics. I literally can't walk away without buying something, as I typically want it all! This is a must-stop if you are looking to buy anything downtown. Seriously. :)

Thanks for reading, and let me know if you ever visit our little city! Have a fun Thursday!

All photos by me, unless otherwise stated.

For a Gift Guide / Her

Hi there! For the last gift guide, I have some amazing options for your s/o, bff, mom, or any female in your life! I personally have asked for a few of these things myself, but all of them are good choices and should be received well. Check out the products below!

1. Face masks are still all the rage, and this one with calendula + turmeric is the best organic option for all skin types.

2. For the frequent farmer's market shopper, this fair trade handmade basket is a dream come true!

3. This book is basically the bible for all things seasonal and natural. It's at the top of my wishlist for the new year!

4. For something luxurious, look no further than Everlane's beautiful Spanish made pouches. The gold option is my personal favorite, but any of the colors would be a winner!

6. Anything Wes Anderson is always a good choice, but this art print takes the cake!

For a Gift Guide / Him

Good morning! Today, I'm sharing my second gift guide, which features products for the gents. I've had my eye on a couple of these for Brett, but all of them would most likely be received well! Check out the guide below!

1. This book from the folks at Kaufmann Mercantile covers how to do anything random you could think of. I plan to steal this from Brett ASAP!

2. Brett is a big fan of Mancala, and I figured it's high time we have a set of our own that isn't on the iPad. Maybe I'll figure out how to play the darn game better in person instead of on the screen!

3. I've never met a guy that doesn't like slippers, and the print on this pair from American Eagle is very cool.

4. I'm so glad they finally made one of these for guys, and it basically has all of the same items, just not in scary girly packaging (fake horror face). Like men don't also have mini emergencies all of the time? Uh ya, every guy needs this just as much as every girl does, myself included!

5. Harry's Razors are top of the line, and the design is on par with the razors themselves. Classic, cool, and essential. Need I say more?

6. If you are going big or going home, this is the perfect speaker for the dude in your life. Bose always makes quality products, and this sleek but fun bluetooth speaker is no exception!

For a Gift Guide / The Littles

Good morning! I'm back with gift guides this season, and today's is for the littles in your life! Below, I've picked a few of the things that I plan to get Bailey, and added a few that I'm sure she would endorse. Check them out below!

1. A Montessori-esque wooden blocks set, handmade in North Carolina.

2. A Mini Market basket to go along with mamas!

3. Some juice cups for the toddler who has graduated to big-kid status.

4. An easel, for the budding artist.

5. A play teepee, for the little who loves to adventure in their imagination (or who just likes a cozy spot to sift through their books in).

6. This interactive book, for those curious about colors.

Gift Guide: Her

Hi guys! Today, we have the Gift Guide for Her, covering everyone from your BFF who loves her baths, to your creative sister who needs some inspiration. I personally would love everything on this list (and am even asking Brett for that beautiful bucket bag :)). Finding gifts for girls is usually pretty easy, everyone I know isn't very picky. Something simple and nice looking will usually do the trick! However, it's always nice to have a list like this to fall back on for last minute gifts, or if you're absolutely stumped. Who doesn't love an amazing smelling candle? Happy shopping!

1. A luxurious and natural bath soak that anyone in need of relaxation would love.

2. If you don't have time to make one, go ahead and purchase an essential ring cone! Everyone needs some sort of ring storage in their life.

3. This bucket bag is sleek, classic, and on trend. I need one.

4. A classic rose scent for the classy women in your life.

5. This new book on creativity is on everyone's wishlist this year!

6. One look at the packaging on this perfume, and I don't think anyone will even need to smell it to love it.

Gift Guide: Him

Hello, all! Today is the day for our second Gift Guide! I don't know about you, but it's always a little challenging to pick out gifts for Brett. Guys just seem like they get along fine without needing or wanting extra things.  Brett especially, he rarely seeks anything out or asks for anything, only what he really needs. Every now and then though, something really cool will come along and he'll immediately go for it. This is why most of the gifts on this list are all things I would get him if he didn't already have them. The most likely thing to be in his stocking from me though, is the beard tonic set. This is pretty much the only thing I can think of that he actually needs! I am very excited about it though, because he loves his beard and I love any products by Herbivore, so it's a win win. Happy shopping!

1. Every guy needs a timeless, classic watch. This one is affordable, but looks very luxe.

2. If your guy has a beard, he needs something to keep it in check. Herbivore products are natural and beautiful, so this set is definitely a keeper.

3. Gloves are one of the most useful gifts in this part of the country. These are extra special because of their text-able fingers!

4. Brett loves his Jordan's, and this Eclipse style is so sleek.

5. Some guys aren't readers, but if yours is, I'm sure he'd love a biography of his favorite musician!

6. Everyone needs a phone case, and these utilitarian ones are on the pricier side, but keeping your iPhone safe is really priceless, right?

Gift Guide: Children

I have always loved when bloggers have posted their favorite things to give each season. I wanted to join in on this as well! I've created this gift guide here and two others to be posted throughout the month, in preparation for Christmas Day! For the children's one, I wanted to include things that aren't gender specific, but the Fauna doll and PJ's were too cute to not include. Having a girl is a blast because, as a mom, you get to relive what you loved about being a girl growing up. The adorable stuffed animals and clothes just happen to be a part of that, for me. If anyone is at a loss of what to get your niece or grandson, the options below are crowd-pleasers! I would buy any of these items for Bailey (and probably will, to be honest). The doll and matching game from Anthropologie are definitely on the list, seeing as I've never met a kid who doesn't love playing matching games. Hopefully this is helpful, and keep an eye out for my upcoming Gift Guides for him and her! Happy shopping!

1. A Melissa and Doug Tabletop Easel. Perfect for the little creator in your life!

2. Some adorable and warm PJ's with a nice little subliminal message :).

3. The Day the Crayons Quit is quickly becoming a classic, and the illustrations are perfect!

4. These dolls are so unique, and much more affordable than ones in a similar style.

5. I always thought these branch colored pencils were too cute! Hopefully, Bailey will feel the same.

6. I used to work at a daycare, and every child would beg to play matching games all day. This bear themed one is on point.
