For Pinning / October

Hi there! October was such an inspirational month, and with the help of Pinterest, I've been slowly defining the lifestyle and aesthetic I want. I think that's a general part of being an adult, figuring out how you want to live your life and all of that, but when you are a creative that's in love with everything you see, it can be hard to pin down what you actually love and what you just like. Pinterest makes this so much easier. For example: I keep two types of Style boards, one The Look of It and the other Personal Style Inspo, and both help me separate my sartorial inspirations. The Look of It consists of outfits and styling that I like but wouldn't actually wear or wouldn't fit in with my personal style. Personal Style Inspo is where I keep any outfit ideas that I want to replicate and actually wear. See? I need the distinction, otherwise all of my ideas get befuddled and I don't actually know what I want! Now that I've over-explained myself, onto my favorite finds on Pinterest this month! Above, is a super cool flatlay that is basically styling goals. I've really been working on my styling this month, with both products and food, so Pinterest is essential for staying inspired.

I'm also planning on hosting a Friendsgiving for the first time this year! While I've been toying with the menu for awhile, the decor is also on my mind. This outdoor setup is gorgeous, even if it will be too cold to actually have our gathering outside.

Urban Outfitters always has awesome decor. I plan on DIY-ing something similar for our living room soon!

I've been in love with warm clothing lately, even though it hasn't gotten too chilly yet. I'm not one to wear sweat pants out of the house, but I would probably make an exception for this comfy-cute outfit.

That menu for our Friendsgiving I mentioned? Ya, it most definitely will include this amazing fall salad.

Last but not least, this wonderfully autumn chair. I have no opinion on the cat, but the velvet texture and pumpkin color of the chair is good enough to keep year round.

All of these Pins, and their links, can be found here! Check out my Pinterest boards for even more Fall inspo, and get Pinning yourself. Thanks for reading, have a fun Monday!

Weekly Moodboard, #6

Happy Saturday readers! This week's mood-board has a great color scheme going on. I'm really loving the pops of tomato red, and the surrounding neutral blacks, whites, and beige's. I've always been very visual and the images compiled here today are some of my most favorite yet. For once, the photos don't read as seasonal, they just work together well. I really want to do a shoot with my hat like the black and white photo. It's so dramatic, it is just screaming "imitate me"! I love the disheveled look of most of these images. The wall hangings and the deconstructed format in the "Fleur" print. Also, the tucked in sweater is the epitome of the relaxed but still put together look I'm always attempting to emulate. I see the hot air balloon photo and minimal bookshelf as a inspiration/reality pair. The hot air balloon looks like the inspiration for the much more attainable bookshelf. The color nerd in me is dying over it. :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Weekly Moodboard, #4

This week's mood board is all about creative and seasonal inspiration. Now that it's freezing outside, I find myself constantly searching inside for something to do. This is most likely because it is very hard to find any joy in doing anything outdoors. It will be better when it's dry and cold, but lately, here in Missouri, it's been cold AND raining for days at a time. I really don't mind the cold as long as it's a dry cold. Like I said, this drives me inside and I get cabin fever quickly, but looking at images like these makes it so much easier to stay inspired.

To start, the beautiful weaving's of Jeannie Helzer need no explanation as to why they are inspiring. Especially with the beautiful warm colors woven into the neutrals. They definitely make me want to take up weaving this winter. The beautiful fire photograph includes the warm seasonal colors, as well as some nostalgia, since fires and bonfires are synonymous with winter around here. I also can't get over ankle boots right now, and those burgundy crushed velvet ones are killing me. I always find inspo from fashion. Architecture too, can be very inspiring, and the black store front in the top right is oddly inviting. Winter hikes and mornings in bed are also on the winter agenda. I'm starting to realize I plan my life around what I'm inspired by, and I don't see one single problem with that. Have a good weekend, all!

Weekly Moodboard, #1

Below I have chosen 6 images from Pinterest or otherwise that reflect whats inspiring me this week. This is the first post in a weekly series to catalog my ever-changing muses. These are images I would tear out from a magazine and pin onto a cork board in my office, if I could print out that many images and not buy endless boxes of paper to do it with. Here we go!

As you can see, all things cozy and fall are on my mind. The colors, the opportunities, I just can't get enough of this season! I think I'll continue to pretend it's fall until spring begins. I'll just add a coat on for an extra layer, and maybe some snow boots. Happy weekend to all!
