To Make / Salt Spray for Beachy Waves

Good morning! Today, I wanted to share a fun summer DIY with you! I'm always in the mood for beachy hair in the summer, even though I don't live anywhere near a beach. My natural texture is wavy-curly anyways, so this salt spray just adds a little more definition to it. For the fine hair folks out there, it will breath life into limp hair! Get the how-to below!

Materials:

- distilled water

- macadamia oil

- 1 tsp. of Himalayan Pink Salt

- grapefruit + tea tree essential oils

- an amber glass spray bottle

Directions:

1. Grind up your salt and pour it into the bottle. Then, add water until the bottle is 3/4 of the way full.

2. Drizzle in a tiny amount of macadamia oil, then add 10 drops each of your essential oils.

3. Give the bottle a good shake, and spritz onto your hair for mermaid waves! Enjoy!

To Make / Rose Facial Spray

Good morning! It's finally June, and that means summer! Along with the coming solstice, there will be a few changes to the blog. I'm rolling out a new business venture in collaboration with the existing blog, and this means that with the new work being shared, there will be less posting here. My goal is to post 3 times a week, expanding on fashion and style, while still keeping a couple of recipes and projects around. I'll share more about the business I'm working on in the coming weeks, but for now, lets kick off June with a refreshing, summery DIY!

Rose facial spray has been on my list of essential DIY's for awhile. As you may know, I'm in love with anything rose, from the scent to the color. I just can't get enough! What with the temperatures heating up and all, I figured it's time to share how to make this little gem, to keep your skin hydrated all summer long. Get the how-to below!

Materials:

- rose essential oil

- witch hazel

- distilled water

- a glass spray bottle

Directions:

1. Pour your witch hazel in your bottle, about half way to the top, then fill the rest with distilled water and add 20 drops of rose oil.

2. Shake the bottle to combine the ingredients.

3. Mist your entire face and let it soak in. Enjoy!

(Side note: this is such a fun thing for kids to do. Bailey asks me to spritz her face on the daily with the spray, and thinks it's hilarious. Of course, this is perfectly safe to-do, which is the whole point of these chemical-free, natural DIY's!)

To Make / Linen Spray

Hi there! I was recently combing through Homesong's DIY's, and found this really simple "recipe" for an all natural linen spray. I've been wanting to try one out for awhile as a pillow spray, and this was the perfect opportunity! I tweaked the ingredients a little to make it lavender scented instead of pine scented. Get the how-to below!

Materials:

- witch hazel

- distilled water

- lavender essential oil

- a small funnel

- a glass spritzer bottle (I find mine at my local health foods store)

Directions:

1. Fill your bottle about 1/3 of the way with witch hazel.

2. Add in 20 drop of lavender essential oil, and then fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water.

3. Place the lid on top, and shake for a second to combine all of the ingredients. Spritz and enjoy!
