Hi guys! Today, I thought we could check out some cute loungewear. Part of my goal of living authentic in 2016 is giving myself downtime for reflection and to just relax. I prefer to do that in comfy clothes, not work out clothes or pajamas, just soft and simple clothes. Above are a few of my favorite loungewear items: a cozy cardigan from Free People, shearling slipper boots from my little sister, a thin t-shirt, and relaxed floral track pants. In the summer, my choices are obviously different, and even simpler (less layering). For now though, I'm looking into nice looking pieces that are well made. Honestly, I wear lounge clothes 80% of the time that I'm at home. They need to last and be visually pleasing! Below, I've featured my picks that I've had my eye on or are already planning to purchase. Check 'em out, and do some online shopping with me!
I love sweaters. There, I said it. Most people probably don't care, but as I've said before, it is very important that I recognize and pay attention to anything that makes me happy. Now, why sweaters? They're usually large and thick, mostly just there to be functional, i.e. usually not very flattering or nice to look at. While I enjoy the layer of warmth they contribute, my favorite quality in sweaters is that they make you look warm. Not physically warm, but warm in the sense that you are cozy and comfortable. You could say they give off cozy vibes. That's what I'm all about, the feeling that a sweater, or any piece of clothing, can give you. You get excited to see it hanging in your closet, you actually plan your outfits around it, it just makes you happy. That's what sweaters are for me. For others, it could be flare jeans or chic black blazers. Ankle boots also make me smile, but that's another ode for another time. I would include sweaters from the web that I have my eye on, but I already have WAY too many sweaters, so I try not to shop for them. I just can't encourage that kind of behavior. :) Thanks for listening to me gush about sweaters. Happy Wednesday!
Today's Moodboard is seemingly influenced by two things. The coziness of the season and what some might call "clutter". I've always been one to accept messes and to encourage filling empty space. I love a minimal room as much as the next creative, but when it comes to my personal decor, I prefer something more relaxed and natural. It is definitely not natural for my house to be perfectly put in its place. In one word, I would describe most of these images as "relaxed" or "relaxing". To some, the filled gallery wall and the messy art session might scream the opposite for them. For me, it's all about the balance, and coziness. Always coziness.
Guess what?! It's time for Weekly Moodboard #2, and I'm still stuck on fall. All aspects of it entice me, and I'm starting to realize it's my favorite season. Everything it represents are all things I get excited for. Pumpkin flavored things, cooler weather, sweaters for said cooler weather, Halloween and Thanksgiving, all things plaid, apple cider floats, the changing leaves, I could go on and on. I probably will in next weeks' mood board as well, but for right now, lets just peruse Pinterest for a moment and single out those images that bring up all the feelings.
As you can see, the colors of fall are my biggest influence at the moment. Also, I'd like to point out that the chill of fall brings everything warm into the picture. Sweaters, hot drinks, and cozy throws. Yes, please.
